He Is Risen!

Today Christians all over the world celebrate the fact that Jesus Christ rose from the grave.  He rose after being in a tomb 3 days after he died for the sins of mankind on a cross.  The resurrection is miraculous and signifies that Jesus Christ conquered death.  He appeared to His disciples and others for a period of forty days after which He ascended into heaven.  He now sits at the right hand of Father God and is in constant prayer for His church.

Quote of the Day

Every day above ground is a good day.  Make the best of today!  We are not promised tomorrow.

Happy Friday!

Well today is Friday.  It is another sunny day here in New York City.
It has been a cold winter which I like.  Spring is starting out cold as well but each day is still a blessing.
I hope you have a blessed day and weekend.

Who killed Jesus?

Today in our small bible study group at work we asked the question who killed Jesus?

Yes it was the high priests that demanded his crucifixion and the Romans who provided the materials for the crucifixion, the crown of thorns, the cross itself, the nails and the place for the sacrifice.  And yes it was also Pontius Pilate who had the authority to release Barabbas or Jesus.  Yes these things were all involved in the process.   But it was the sin of mankind that killed Jesus and Father God allowed this to happen so that mankind, you and me can have a relationship with Christ that allows us to have eternal life with Him in heaven.  Let us remember as we approach holy week the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus Christ accomplished on our behalf.

Hello Everyone,
I wish everyone a happy first day of spring!  After yesterday's rain and kind of blustery day today is a beautiful sunny cloud free day.  I actually like rainy days because I know that it helps the trees to bud and the flowers to start to grown.  Not to mention that it keeps the reserviors full for the city water supply.  So even a rainy day can be a hassle it is still a blessing.  On my lunch hour I walked to the East River and enjoyed seeing the river for a few minutes.  New York City is a great walking city.  Have a great day!
Remember each day is a gift from God.
Quote of the Day:

Each day is a gift from the Lord, so be glad and make the most of it.

Quote of the Day

Instead of complaining about something find a way to be part of the solution.

Hello Everyone

The purpose of my blog is to glorify God and encourage others in the areas of prayer, reflection and enjoying God's creation.  Please join me.  From time to time I will comment on current events in regards to my relationship with Jesus Christ.  I will also offer from time to time comments on current events in relationship with my Christian worldview.  So I far I have offered quotes of the day.  I am not sure if this will continue but I am trying different things at this point.  I am not a big fan of social media but this blog hopefully will be different in spuring deeper conversations with others about faith in Christ and how to follow Him in this increasingly dark world.   Feel free to join me on this journey!
